Blackjack is one of the most popular casino table games around. If you’re looking to play Blackjack online, then you’ll find a range of casinos willing to host you, with Casino Tour Guide listing the best ones here! In the main these online casinos will offer two forms of Blackjack; either classic online blackjack or live blackjack. Classic online blackjack will use high performance graphics & the outcomes of each round are determined via RNG (Random Number Generators), while live blackjack brings you the experience of a real dealer, just like you’d have in a real world casino, but from the comfort of your home.
The game of Blackjack is fairly simple, but essentially, you’re looking for the combined value of your cards to be higher than the dealer, up to but not exceeding a total value of 21. To begin everyone at the table is dealt two cards & while the players cards are hidden from view of everyone else, one of the dealer cards is visible, which allows for some tactics & strategy to be utilised by the players.
When playing the game of blackjack, understanding the value of the cards used is very straightforward, as the face value of each card is what is used during the game. This applies for all cards from 2 to 10, with all picture cards (Jack / Queen / King) valued at 10 & then Aces being valued at either 1 or 11. If you are dealt an ace, you can decide the aces value as your hand unfolds & ultimately, you should pick whichever value will get you closer to 21.
The game itself is basically a process of decisions. Once you’ve bet & everyone at the table has been dealt their cards, you then need to wait your turn & this will be clearly shown on screen. At this point & based on your two cards total value you can then –
Hit – Draw an extra card in order to increase your total cards value & try and get closer to 21. You can continue to ‘hit’ until you’re happy with the total value of your cards, but you must not go above 21, or you’re out of the game (Bust).
Stand – You can decide not to ask for any more cards & stay with just what you already have. You should stand if you think your cards will beat the dealers final card total.
You should also note that on most tables the dealer has to continue to ‘hit’ if their cards total is below 17, but once they’re finished ‘hitting’ a comparison will be made between their cards & yours. Whoever has the highest total amount & isn’t bust, will win the round. If both the player and dealer have the same total value then this will result in a ‘push’ where you will get your original betted stake back.
While there’s a lot more to blackjack for experienced players, the above overview is enough to get you started, so if you now think you’ve got what it takes to beat the dealer & hit 21, then we’ve found the best casinos for you.
